Rock Legend Bob Dylan To Play The Fort Aug. 24

If You Show It, Fans Will Come – To Parkview Field (Field of Dreams Showing Prior To TRF Fireworks)

Parkview Field will be the home for baseball on the evening of the Three Rivers Festival Fireworks Finale, just not baseball the way people are accustomed.

The downtown ballpark will offer a free showing of the baseball classic, Field of Dreams, the evening of July 21.

“It was an open night on the TinCaps schedule and we were looking for a fun way to invite people downtown,” stated Michael Limmer, TinCaps Vice President of Marketing. “We felt it would be a shame for Parkview Field to sit empty on a night that downtown plays host to one of the most unique and

exciting firework shows in the Midwest. We’ve always talked about how great a movie would look up on the video board at Parkview Field, so here was the perfect opportunity.”

Parkview Field, with its dynamic view of the downtown skyline, is one of the perfect spots to take in the pyrotechnics off the top of One Summit Square. The ballpark will open to the public at 6 p.m. and attendees will be able to take their pick from the available seating options. The movie will begin at

7:30 p.m. with a 10 p.m.scheduled start time for the Three Rivers Festival Fireworks Show.

“It’s a classic movie, with something for everyone,” said Limmer. “It’s not just about baseball, it’s about connecting with others and finding that common bond that ties us all together. It’s fun to think about a few thousand people coming together in a ballpark and sharing that community bond on a special night in Fort Wayne. Whether you’ve watched the movie a hundred times, or not at all, you’ve certainly never seen it quite like this.”

This event will be free admission, with no ticket being required for entry. There will be concessions and beverages available throughout the evening at several of the ballpark’s stands and carts.

No outside food or beverage, lawn chairs, or coolers will be allowed into the ballpark during this event.

The movie will play rain or shine.

For more information about this event please contact the Fort Wayne TinCaps at (260) 482-6400.
