Lemonade Day event Tuesday at Parkview Field

FORT WAYNE, IN  – A local Lemonade Day event takes place 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Parkview Field, 1301 Ewing St.

Nearly 1,300 Fort Wayne youth participated in the 2012 inaugural Lemonade Day, earning an average of $120 per stand and 50 percent of participants opening a savings account with their profits. Participation is free to everyone aged 17 and under.

Lemonade Day is a national event that teaches youth about entrepreneurship via the experiential learning model of having their own lemonade stands for a day. Founded in Houston, Tex. by Indiana native and entrepreneur Michael Holthouse, Lemonade Day has grown to 150,000 youth across the U.S. and Canada.
