Grants to strengthen Indiana’s historical and cultural heritage have been awarded for 12 projects in nine Indiana communities, including two in Fort Wayne.

The federal funds allotted by the DNR Division of Historic Preservation & Archaeology will be matched by local and private funds, Wednesday’s announcement said.

The Embassy Theatre Foundation received a $50,000 grant to rehabilitate the terra cotta on the 1928 Embassy Theatre building, and the city of Fort Wayne received a $7,488 grant to prepare a historic district nomination to the National Register of Historic Places for the Foster Park Historic District.
