In other business, council members approved an updated agreement with Allen County for the operation of the Joint Communications Department, which oversees 911 operations.

The agreement is largely the same as the one approved three years ago but changes the formula for financing from the city paying 75 percent of the cost to paying 80 percent, based on call volume.

Officials also told council members they are close to approving moving 911 operations from the basement to the sixth floor of the Rousseau Centre.
